The following e-learning modules of the State Employment Agency (SEA) are available online for anyone interested:

  • "My money today and tomorrow. Financial literacy",
  • "How to build an effective job search strategy",
  • "Preparing your cover letter and preparing for a job interview".  

The modules are in Latvian. 

How do I get started with e-learning?

  1. Step - Open the SEA CV and vacancies portal on your computer or smart device,
  2. Step - Click on "E-Services" (E-pakalpojumi) at the top of the home page,
  3. Step - Click on "E-learning" (E-apmācība) at the bottom of the E-Services page,
  4. Step - Authorise through the Latvija.lv portal,
  5. Step - Choose an e-learning course and start learning.

E-learning module "My money today and tomorrow. Financial literacy"

It offers the opportunity to acquire knowledge about national and household budgeting, ways of generating income, the role of taxation, expenditure control, the nature of credit, the role of financial documents, price formation, the role of the financial sector in the economy and types of financial services, consumer rights and responsibilities, the principles of the social insurance system, etc. The learning module has four sections: "Money and Transactions", "Private Financial Planning", "Financial and Economic Environment. Taxes", "State and social budgets, functioning of the social insurance system in the country". The content includes theoretical explanations, audio and video materials, dialogue simulations and self-testing opportunities. The course lasts five academic hours and includes a test at the end of the course.

E-learning module "How to build an effective job search strategy"

It allows anyone to learn job search methods remotely, how to structure job search steps effectively, how to set priorities, how to develop a job search action plan to successfully find a job. The content is organised in three sections: "Job search", "Time management" and "Stress management". The module provides jobseekers with advice on exploring their knowledge, skills and abilities, planning their time effectively in their job search, and coping with the stress that can arise during unemployment and the search for a new job. The content includes theoretical explanations, audio and video materials, dialogue simulations and self-testing opportunities. The duration of the course is 5 academic hours.

E-learning module "Preparing your cover letter and preparing for a job interview"

Offers the opportunity to learn job search techniques in an electronic environment. Distance learning is concluded with a proficiency test. The tests are only available once you have studied all the content of the e-learning module.
