Support for Starting a Business or Becoming Self-employed

Aim of the programme

To provide advisory and financial support to help participants start a business or become self-employed and operate successfully in their chosen field for at least two years.

How to apply

During a consultation, inform an SEA employee that you would like to participate in the programme “Support Measures for Starting a Business or Becoming Self-employed”.

Eligible participants

  • SEA clients who have been granted unemployed status and wish to start a business or become self-employed. 

Applicants are admitted to the programme in the order in which their applications are registered.

You may reapply one year after your previous participation in the programme, provided that:

  • no agreement on the implementation of a business plan was concluded during your previous participation. 

You may not participate in the programme again if an agreement on the implementation of a business plan was previously concluded.

Participants’ responsibilities and support provided during the programme

  • Participation in an online webinar on the key requirements for successfully running a business; 
  • Presentation of the proposed business idea to experts online. 

Based on the experts’ assessment, the participant will either continue or discontinue their participation in the programme

  • Ten consultations on preparing a business plan; 
  • A webinar on the general requirements for developing a business plan; 
  • Preparation and submission of a business plan to the SEA; 
  • Presentation of the business plan to experts online. 

Based on the experts’ assessment, the participant will either continue or discontinue their participation in the programme

  • Conclusion of an agreement with the SEA on receiving support for starting a business or becoming self-employed; 
  • Registration of economic activity; 
  • Receipt of a business start-up grant; 
  • Fifteen individual online consultations on implementing the business plan; 
  • Operation of the business for at least two years in accordance with the submitted business plan; 
  • Submission of the information required by the SEA or the experts to monitor the implementation of the business plan.
